Clyburn Blames Ellison’s Anti-Israel Comments on Youthful Indiscretion

‘I like Keith a lot. I know what it is in your younger days to say things that you look back on and regret later in life’

CLYBURN: "Now, let me say this for Keith. I like Keith a whole lot. I know what it is in your younger days to say things that you look back on and regret later in life. I said a few things when I was organizing sit-ins that I’m glad we don't have the Internet, we didn’t have the Internet back then, but these are things you say when you are trying to fight against inequality. And then when you mature, look back on it, and you can say a lot of times there was a better way for me to say that. And so he has apologized, if memory serves, or he says he regrets some of those things. And all of us wish we had not said some things that we have said. So I admire Keith a whole lot."
