Zeke Emanuel: ‘ObamaCare Has Been Good for Business’

‘Business will be hit hard if people lose insurance because they still go to the hospital’

HALPERIN: "When you talk to conservative health care policy analysts, are they forthright with you saying 'We don’t think universal coverage is something the federal government should aspire to?'"
EMANUEL: "No, most health care policy experts who are conservatives do think we have to get the universal health care coverage, that we can't actually have a system that doesn’t work with some way of getting people insurance and getting everyone in the system. Otherwise, you just have cost shifting. So what happens when people lose insurance? I mean, businesses will be hit hard if people lose insurance because they still go to the hospital. Right? And those costs get transferred to the people who are paying. One of the secrets is ObamaCare has been good for business. It’s kept health care inflation and their premiums much lower."
