DIAZ-BALART: "And I agree with Jon Meacham that history will record the only leader, the only dictator, the only person in power who ever asked for a first strike, a nuclear strike on the United States of America was Fidel Castro. His declassified letter to Khrushchev during the missile crisis saying 'If the invasion comes, it is necessary, Mr. Chairman, for the Soviet Union to launch a nuclear first strike on the United States.' In other words, 'If the United States comes and gets me to liberate the Cuban people, please eliminate the United States from the face of the Earth.' That was Fidel Castro. A pathological liar, murderer and someone who had no limits in his egotism."
