Ed Schultz: Hannity ‘Cheerleading for Armed Conflict with the Federal Government’

‘Fox News and Sean Hannity should be ashamed of their coverage of this lawbreaker’

Ed Schultz: Hannity ‘Cheerleading for Armed Conflict with the Federal Government’ (Mediaite)

On Wednesday, MSNBC host Ed Schultz said that Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity had been “out of bounds as a broadcaster” for his coverage of the standoff between Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy and the Bureau of Land Management. Schultz accused Hannity of “cheerleading” violence between Bundy’s supporters and federal authorities.

Schultz began by playing clips of Hannity, who said that the media’s coverage of the case, including his own, was partly responsible for the BLM’s decision to release some of Bundy’s confiscated cattle and to back down from the ongoing standoff.

After playing another clip of Hannity in which he asked the Bundy family if they were afraid federal agents might kill them, Schultz said that Hannity had exceeded the limits placed on broadcasters.
