Smerconish: It Was Not the Time or Place for the Cast of Hamilton to Lecture Pence

‘He was there to enjoy their performance’

SMERCONISH: "You know, a decade ago I laid out a lot of money, because I wanted to listen to Roger Waters at Madison Square Garden. And I was there to hear that -- the Pink Floyd founder perform 'Comfortably Numb' and 'Another Brick in the Wall Part IV.' And, instead, I got a lecture on habeas corpus rights for prisoners at Guantanamo, when I was in a seat probably two miles away from Ground Zero as the crow flies. I'll never forget it. I thought it was so inappropriate. I simply was there to enjoy the music. And so, yes, I take note of the fact that Pence, Governor Pence says he wasn't offended by it, but as my parents would say, "Time and a place, time and a place, time and a place." I just don't think that was the time and place for him to be lectured by the cast of 'Hamilton.'"
