CNN’s Jake Tapper followed up his TMZ airport ambush with an appearance on the late night show Chelsea to talk about the election and the transition effort of President-elect Donald Trump. It was Chelsea Handler’s first show since her notably distressed taping last week in the aftermath of Hillary Clinton‘s loss that saw the show’s host sob to Senator Barbara Boxer.

Tapper said on Thursday night, “You would think there would be a moment of reconciliation where [Trump] would reach out and tried to get people who are scared.”

“I don’t know that they really — inside the Trump Tower bubble — I don’t know that they really understand how scared a lot of Americans are,” he continued to Handler. The conversation focused on the ongoing anti-Trump protests and movements nationwide in the wake of the GOP candidate’s upset victory.
