Maj. Gen. in Charge of American Effort to Retake Mosul: ‘It’s Going Well’

‘It’s going well!’

BRZEZINSKI: The American supported operation to retake Mosul is making slow but steady progress. Commanders overseas say the mission is so far going according to plan but are warning about possible ISIS attacks in the West in retaliation. NBC’s Richard Engel is at an airfield just south of Mosul. He spoke exclusively with the major general in charge of the American effort."
ENGEL: "How’s it going?"
VOLESKY: "It’s going well."
ENGEL: "In his first interview since the offensive to push ISIS out of Mosul began, major general Gary Volseky said his troops are providing air support and heavy artillery but not leading this charge."
VOLESKY: "The Iraqis have the momentum, they know it. They want to get there as quickly as they can."
