GIBBS: Romney Subscribes to Discredited Free Market Ideas

Appearing on “This Week,” Robert Gibbs, former press secretary to President Obama and current adviser to his re-election campaign, said America is making progress but Romney wants to take us backwards: “We’ve made progress but we’ve got a long way to go. And this is going to be an election about two different visions. You heard part of it here just a minute ago with Sen. McConnell. And you hear it with Mitt Romney every day. The best way to create jobs is to give millionaires and billionaires with greater tax cuts. Take financial regulations off of things like banks and Wall St. and somehow we’ll see jobs flourish. The problem with that is that it’s not a theory. We tried it for eight years and it ended in this huge economic calamity and this financial mess.”
