Sen. Chris Murphy: We Need 'Much More Serious' Sanctions Against Russia

'Five years from now, who knows who is next? If Europe doesn't get serious about this today ... it could be a NATO ally who's next in line'

Dem. Senator Calls For ‘Much More Serious’ Sanctions Against Russia (Washington Free Beacon)

Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy called for more sanctions against Russia Friday, saying the United States should impose “much more serious” sanctions on Russian banks and petrochemical companies.

Murphy, who chairs the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on European Affairs, expressed his frustration at Europe for its seeming reluctance to follow the United States on crippling sanctions against the Russian regime.

“It’s just so frustrating for us because it should matter much more to Europe, frankly,” Murphy said.
