Scarborough: ‘I’m Actually Starting to Believe’ Trump Could Shoot Somebody on 5th Ave. and He’d Still Get Votes

‘If you look at the reaction to the tax stories about the 18 years he may not have paid taxes, and he says and his followers say, yeah, because I am a smart businessman’

GEIST: "It reinforces something I've thought for a long time. There are just not that many persuadable voters left. There aren't that many people who haven't made up their minds about these two people, and if you love Donald Trump or you really love Donald Trump, it goes back to the thing of walking to 5th avenue, shoot somebody and they'd still all vote for me —"
SCARBOROUGH: "I'm actually starting to believe that."
GEIST: "There's some truth in that. If you look at the reaction to the tax stories in the 'New York Times' about the 18 years he may not have paid federal taxes, his argument and one that's been picked up by his followers is, 'Yeah, because I am a smart businessman. I took advantage legally of all the tax advantages I could get on behalf of myself and my business,' and his followers are echoing that. I just don’t think there’s that much wiggle room in the middle anymore."
