Haass: Trump Doesn’t See the Return on the Investment of American Foreign Policy

‘The return on American foreign policy has been one of the great bargains of modern history’

SCARBOROUGH: "He doesn’t see it as an investment."
HAASS: "He doesn’t see the return. The fact that all these countries are developing nuclear weapons on their own, the fact that we won the Cold War or the fact that Europe has been mostly stable, that Asia after Vietnam has been mostly stable. This is the environment in which the United States trades, invests and visits. So the return on American foreign policy has been one of the great bargains of modern history. And when the historians look back on this here they will say '70 plus years after World War II, what a remarkable return on investment.'"
