Byron York: Trump’s Job Is to ‘Show He Can Be a Plausible President’

‘People think he is more honest than she is’

HEMMER: "Byron York, chief political correspondent, 'Boston Examiner'. Stephen Hayes, senior writer, 'Weekly Standard'. Both are Fox News contributors and both are with us here live. Good day, gentlemen, to both of you. He has got to do something; she has got to do something, right? Let's start there. What does he need to do, Byron?"
YORK: "Well, he has to show that he can be a plausible president. I went to a focus group of undecided voters of Virginia last week and a lot of them just didn’t see him as actually the President, the guy in the office. The polls bear that out. Hillary Clinton has leads on who has the better temperament to be President, who's more qualified to be President. But, people think he is more honest than she is. This is something that drives Democrats crazy but they think that. Also, he basically shares a lead with her on who could best handle the most important issues which is terrorism and the economy. So what he has to do is — people would be open to his message if they simply viewed him as plausible. So far they don’t."
