Mark Takano Slams Trump for Defending Idea Sexual Assault in Military Is Inevitable

‘Donald Trump should have rejected and repudiated what he said instead of doubling down on it’

TAKANO: "I think military sexual rape or assault is something that will be addressed through proper leadership and judgment. And Donald Trump clearly, on that tweet, doubled down on it. The idea that sexual assault and rape are a natural, inevitable consequence of putting men and women together in a working context is simply absurd. Donald Trump should have rejected and repudiated what he said instead of doubling down on it. He showed -- further, he showed very little knowledge about our military justice system. We do have a justice system in place. And there was a robust debate in Congress about whether we should change it."
