Richard Fowler to Trump: Stop Treating Black People Like a ‘Monolithic Voting Bloc’

‘Democrats are really going to try to turn out African-American voters’

Richard Fowler to Trump: Stop Treating Black People Like a "Monolithic Voting Bloc" (RealClearPolitics)

Radio talk show host and liberal commentator Richard Fowler criticized Donald Trump's plea to African-American voters last week where he asked, "What do you have to lose?"

Fowler said Trump needs to stop thinking that black people are a "monolithic voting bloc," but moments prior lamented that President Obama would not be on the ballot this year, which is a "benefit" for Trump.

"Democrats are really going to try to turn out African-American voters," Fowler said in an interview on MSNBC Monday morning. "They're going to try to go to their normal turnout machines, and sadly, this time around Barack Obama is not on the ballot which has been a big way to get African-American voters out. So that's the benefit for Donald Trump."
