Colbert Cracks Up Fallon with Crazy Anecdotes from White House State Dinner (Mediaite)

Stephen Colbert made his second appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon (after his cameo on Fallon’s debut episode) Friday night, and opened up about his time at the White House state dinner last month. Colbert told Fallon he was incredibly freaked out upon finding out he was sitting next to First Lady Michelle Obama, but initially thought it was a joke.

When they got to the table, Colbert says his wife told him, “You know when you were a little boy and your mother said ‘Sit up straight, put your napkin in your lap, and eat with your best manners, ’cause someday you might have dinner at the White House?’ This is what she was talking about! Do not blow it!”

He also said he talked to French President Francois Hollande with the minimal French he knows, trying to follow what the foreign leader was saying, and admitted he “completely bullshitted the President of France.”

Colbert also talked about his role in the new movie Mr. Peabody & Sherman and how much he loved the original series, and as a comedian, he prefers his kids watch actually funny stuff like that classic show as opposed to say, whatever passes for entertainment on the Disney Channel these days.
