I worked with Paul Ryan on the Murray-Ryan budget conference committee in December 2013 and saw then-budget chair Ryan and our budget chair Patty Murray very different people work productively to find a compromise and a budget. That's kind of the what -- what I think about Paul Ryan. And when I see him, you know, kind of being, if not an apologist at least refusing to just call out bad behavior on Donald Trump's behalf, I -- I feel sad for him."
