Mike Lee: If Trump Embraced Federalism ‘He’d Be a Whole Lot Better off as a Candidate’

‘If Donald Trump embraced those two principles outlined in this book I think we’d be a whole lot better as a country’

LEE: "In particular, I’d love to see him go after federalism and separations of powers. Those are two concepts I embrace in my book and explain as the twin structural protections on the Constitution, which really do protect us. The idea that we should govern locally whenever possible, that's federalism. And the idea that each branch of government should say within its lane, that Congress ought to be making law, rather than the president. I'll tell you if Donald Trump embraced those the two principles outlined in this book, I think we'd be a whole lot better off as a country and he'd be a whole lot better as a candidate.”
