A law professor at Drexel University, David Cohen says it's time to remove the Second Amendment from the Constitution. Cohen, who penned an oped in Rolling Stone arguing for repealing the amendment, appeared Saturday morning on CNN. Here's a rush excerpt:

BLACKWELL: "Why do you go to the repeal of the second amendment?"

COHEN: "When something is written into the constitution as a right, we elevate it in our society as something beyond the democratic process. If we talk about it as a constitutional right, it’s better than everything else. And I think it should be taken out of the constitution and made just like every other consumer good. That doesn’t mean I think they should be banned everywhere. It just should be subject to votes. And democracy. And when we have a constitutional right, that takes it off the table."
