Alison Lundergan Grimes Mistakenly Claims Miley Cyrus Is From Kentucky

The pop star was actually born in Franklin, Tennessee

Lundergan Grimes Miley Cyrus Fail (Washington Free Beacon)

In another cringe-worthy moment from her campaign trail, Democratic Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes falsely claimed that pop sensation Miley Cyrus was from Kentucky, when in fact the former “Hannah Montana” star was born and raised in neighboring Tennessee.

“You will hear on behalf of this campaign…a little Katy Perry roar,” Grimes told the crowd, which included former President Bill Clinton. “And by the end of this race… we’ll be bringing home our Kentucky girl Miley Cyrus with a little wrecking ball straight to the guardian of gridlock.”

Cyrus has never lived in Kentucky. She was born in Franklin, Tennessee in 1992 and was raised there before moving to Los Angeles, California.
