Democratic Governors Push for Minimum Wage Hike

‘We understand that prosperity does not trickle down from the top’

WH Tells Democratic Governors That $10.10 Minimum Wage Still On The Table (Talk Radio News Service)

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden told a group of Democratic Governors today that they will continue to push Congress to increase the federal minimum wage to $10.10 per hour.

“This is not just good policy; it also happens to be good politics, because the truth of the matter is the overwhelming majority of Americans think that raising the minimum wage is a good idea,” Obama said before a meeting with the Governors.

Obama noted his executive order last week that lifted the minimum wage to $10.10 per hour for all federal employees and contractors starting in January of 2015.
