Odierno: I’m Disappointed ‘We Have Not Had a National Security Debate’

ODIERNO: “People don’t understand where we are on our national security. I think I agree with what secretary Gates said yesterday. There’s enough of a discussion about it. We talk about the economy because that’s important to a lot of people. But national security and the economy are directly linked to each other. You can’t separate it and say I’m going to talk about the economy I’m not going to talk about national security. You have to talk about both. They affect both sides. So I have been disappointed in the fact we have not had a national security debate. It’s important that we do. It’s one of the reasons I’m here today. I want to see a national security debate."
