MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell: The Stimulus Program Did Not Live Up to the Hype

‘I would argue that what Ben Bernanke did had more to do with the survival of the economy coming out of the deepest recession’

Mitchell Reports: Stimulus Did Not Live Up To Hype (Washington Free Beacon)

MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell said the stimulus signed into law five years ago never lived up to the hype Tuesday on Morning Joe, calling the jobs it created “a drop in the bucket.”

“I think it did not do what its backers claimed that it did,” she said. “1.6 million jobs is a drop in the bucket. That’s not any kind of job creation.”

President of the Council on Foreign Relations Richard Haass also said the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act failed to address American entitlement obligations.
