Al Roker Apologizes for Saying De Blasio Will Be a One-Term Mayor

‘That was a little below the line ... but everything else I still stand by’

Al Roker Apologizes to De Blasio for ‘Below the Line’ Comment About Being 1 Term Mayor (Mediaite)

NBC meteorologist Al Roker apologized to New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio on Friday morning for a tweet in which he predicted that the mayor’s decision to keep public schools open on Thursday during a nor’easter would result in his serving only one term in office. While Roker stood by his critique of de Blasio’s for misrepresenting the National Weather Service’s forecast, he said that his political commentary was “below the line.”

Roker said on Friday that de Blasio’s decision to leave schools open was unnecessarily risky and not warranted.

“I will say, the one tweet I do regret,” Roker said. “I’m very passionate about the weather. I made a prediction there would be only one term of his administration. I apologize for that.”
