Trump Blames Media For Correspondents’ Dinner No-Show: ‘I Would Have Had a Great Time!’ (Mediaite)

After the famous (or infamous?) 2011 White House Correspondents’ Dinner where President Barack Obama took aim at then-reality TV star Donald Trump in humiliating fashion, many had hoped that the real estate titan would have made an appearance Saturday night. After all, it marked President Obama’s final such event for his administration, and while the jokes were still flying at Trump’s expense, the controversial frontrunner was nowhere to be seen to the disappointment of many.

President Obama even joked at the dinner, “I am a little hurt [Trump’s] not here tonight. We had so much fun the last time,” he said, referencing the year that Trump’s stint on Celebrity Apprentice made for prime satire red meat. The President continued, “It is surprising. You’ve got a room full of reporters, celebrities, cameras, and he says, ‘no’. Is this dinner too tacky for the Donald?”
