Among the many responses to those front office execs and fans who say there is no place for a gay man in an NFL locker room, Dale Hansen's has risen above the rest.

Hansen, a longtime and award-winning sportscaster in at the Dallas ABC affiliate WFAA, taped this bit for his "Dale Hansen Unplugged" segment. In it he is speaking to those who think Michael Sam, the former Missouri standout who could become the first openly gay NFL player, does not belong in the league.

Hansen makes lots of strong points, including one about segregation in sports:

"It wasn't that long ago when we were being told that black players couldn't play in "our" games because it would be "uncomfortable." And even when they finally could, it took several more years before a black man played quarterback.

Because we weren't "comfortable" with that, either."
