Ted Cruz is firing back at New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio with a new radio ad slamming the Democrat's "socialist policies."

The 60-second ad, first reported by the New York Times, plays a clip of de Blasio calling Cruz "out of touch" before the ad rebuts the mayor.

"He's got a lot of nerve. De Blasio's socialist policies are tearing this city apart," a narrator says in the ad. "Murders up nearly 10 percent. He treats cops like criminals and criminals like freedom fighters. De Blasio made New York a sanctuary city, rolling out the red carpet for illegals. And de Blasio ended stop and frisk even where terror suspects are known to congregate."
