Trump on Not Attacking Scott Walker: ‘Right Now I’m Catering to the Republicans’
‘Although I think we’re going to have a lot of crossover’
Donald Trump suggested today his politics are subject to change depending on who he's speaking to. Speaking at a rally in Racine, Wisc., the Republican front-runner discussed his dislike of Gov. Scott Walker while frequently referencing a plaque the governor gave him several years ago.
"Do I take it and show it to you?" Trump asked, referring to the plaque. "Some people say, 'Oh, but [Walker's] sort of popular with Republicans.'"
"Well right now I'm catering to the Republicans," Trump said. He then quickly added, perhaps sensing he'd gaffed, "Although I think we're going to have a lot of crossover, I do believe we'll have Democrats, Independents."
Trump ultimately never displayed the plaque.
