Donald Trump's campaign spokesman, Katrina Pierson, said they would keep their manager, Corey Lewandowski on staff even if he's convicted of assaulting a reporter. Earlier today Lewandowski was charged with simple battery in Jupiter, Fla.

"These types of things are not uncommon, to be jostled or moved or hit, whether it's by a campaign person or even a media person," Pierson told CNN's Wolf Blitzer. "As I said, you can start suing networks now for slashing your arm with a camera, which happened in my case. This is absurd, it's ridiculous, and it will be beat."

Asked if he would remain on staff even if he's ultimately convicted of assaulting the female reporter, Pierson said, "Absolutely, Mr. Lewandowski is an integral part of this team. The camp wholeheartedly supports him and will see him through this whole ordeal."
