President Obama, speaking Thursday at a townhall in Buenos Aires, criticized America politics for its excessive focus on "sound bites."

"In America, sometimes in our politics you see sound bites — what we call sound bites, I don’t know the translation," Obama said.

His comments came in response to a question about global warming. Obama said supporting "we have to have the maturity" to accept the theory as true. That some people don't, he said, is due to the dissemination of soundbites.

"It’s a beautiful day outside in Buenos Aires," he noted,  but "we have to start working now, so that 20, 30, 50, 100 years from now we still have a beautiful planet to live on."
