Illegal Immigrant in Tent City vs. Arpaio: I'm Not In Jail For Being An Illegal, I'm Here For A DUI (RealClearPolitics)

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio faced off with one of his own prisoners in his famous "tent city" jail while he was being interviewed by MSNBC's Jacob Soboroff. The inmate, Marco Solorzano, a Hispanic, was asked what he thought of Trump by the MSNBC reporter in the presence of the sheriff. The prisoner said his candidacy was "crazy."

"Just how they're trying kick people out, certain people, because they're undocumented," Solorzano said. "I mean, I know, I understand, we may have committed a crime, but everybody makes mistakes."

The anchor turned to Arpaio for his response causing him to engage with his prisoner and learn his legal status. The prisoner admitted to being an illegal immigrant, however, he said he was being jailed for a DUI conviction, not his legal status.
