But there’s been one contested convention since we went to the modern primary system and it went with the frontrunner going into the convention, that was Gerald Ford in 1976. Like it or not, Donald Trump is likely to be the Republican nominee for president. And that can be a really messy convention or it can be a relatively smooth convention. But the fact is, he is by far the most likely nominee going at this moment."
