Duncan Hunter: ‘Trump Is a Little Bit Inarticulate’

MACCALLUM: “I’m just — I want to ask you one more question about General Hayden. Because, he has said — you know, he responded to something that Donald Trump said, which was that waterboarding would be OK with Donald Trump. He said quote, ‘They deserve it.’ And Michael Hayden said, we never do anything of those things because they deserve it, that’s the not reason that we do it. The reason that we do any tactics are because we want to get information, we want to get evidence. He said it never can be — kind of come from that place that they deserve it. What do you think about that?”
HUNTER: “So, there are two points that you’re making. One is, what do we do on terrorists — do we torture them or not? That’s one of your questions. Your other question what does Trump mean when he says what he says? What Trump means is we’re done playing patty-cake. We’re all finished, we’re not playing little kids games. If you’re terrorist and we catch you, we’re going to extract all the information we can from you, no matter what. That’s what he means.”
MACCALLUM: “All right.”
HUNTER: “Trump is a little bit inarticulate, Martha —“
MACCALLUM: “We got to go.”
HUNTER: “— I will give you that.”
