Kasich: ‘If I Don’t Win Ohio, I Will Get Out’

‘Ohio will change this whole race’

RUSH TRANSCRIPT:

HEMMER: “I know two years ago you won 86 out of 88 counties. When you look at what trump is doing in rural counties like in South Carolina, and this poll that came out showing you trailing him by 5 in your home state. Can you beat Donald Trump?”
KASICH: “A poll showed us running even and we haven’t put our shoulder to the wheel. We’ll winnow high oh. After Ohio, everything changes. Let’s be honest about this. The person who has gotten all the air type has basically Donald Trump. People who talk about accomplishing thing or the vision for the future. If you are not yelling and screaming you don’t get the attention. And that’s okay. When we head up to the north people will be able to focus more and get a message out. My town halls are great. People are emotional. The crowd are significant.”
HEMMER: “If you don’t win next Tuesday in Michigan you stay in it?”
KASICH: “Ohio will change this whole race.”
HEMMER: “If you don’t win in Michigan, you stay in?”
KASICH: “I’m going to Ohio. Then you have Illinois and Pennsylvania. At the end of night 35 percent of delegates are be selected which leaves 65 percent to be selected. As we like to say in golf. The guy makes a double and you make a par it’s a whole new ballgame.”
HEMMER: “Do you subscribe to the theory if you cannot win your home tent you should fold the tent?”
KASICH: “If I don’t win Ohio I will get out. I also said if I got smoked in New Hampshire I would leave. We did fine in New Hampshire. That was the first time people in America got to hear me or see my message. You have to win your home state.”
HEMMER: “So you are saying if Ted Cruz doesn’t win Texas he should get out?”
KASICH: “I think you have to seriously think about it. If you can’t win your own state, how are you supposed to stay in? We’ll get this all resolved here within the next two weeks.”
