P. Parenthood.: Confirm SCOTUS Nominee ‘So Women Will Continue to Have Rights’

‘I certainly hope the Senate rethinks this and entertains whoever the president’s puts forward’

MITCHELL: "With the Texas -- the Texas health clinics, which according to the lower court ruling, have been severely restricted by the requirement that doctors have hospital standing privileges."

RICHARDS: "That's right. And I -- look, I think the president made his case quite well. He was elected to a four-year term, not a three-year term. And I think that this kind of hyper-partisanship where we're actually literally not even willing -- the Republicans are not even willing to entertain judicial nominations including for their highest court is why people have such disregard for just sort of the breakdown in the system. But you're right, for women in America and for everyone, we deserve to have nine justices on the Supreme Court, because important decisions are being made everyday, including the case next week about whether women will continue to have rights, access to safe and legal abortion, access to birth control in America. I certainly hope that the Senate rethinks this and entertains whoever the president's puts forward."
