Carson Hits CNN, Cruz over Iowa Caucuses: ‘CNN Is Certainly the Beacon of All Truth’

‘It just says that we probably see things differently’

SCARBOROUGH: “Well, let me ask you, especially a lot of your supporters that I’ve talked to believe that the first inning of that game, Iowa, was fixed, that it was rigged because Ted Cruz and all of his people spread lies about you dropping out of the race. How much of an impact do you think that had not only on Iowa but your campaign —“
CARSON: “Sure.”
SCARBOROUGH: “— moving forward and how do you recover from that?”
CARSON: “Well, you know, the thing that hurt me the most about it was there were so many of our volunteers and particularly college students and they are out there, you know, working their hearts out and then somebody tells them that I’ve dropped out and they’re like, what? And they are in a state of shock. And —“
SCARBOROUGH: “That — that had to make you angry.”
CARSON: “And they are not doing what they were out there to do now because they’re like, ‘oh, boy’. I just — and I know that there are people who say, well, you know, they saw the report on CNN and, you know, CNN is certainly the beacon of all truth. So —“ (Laughter)
SCARBOROUGH: “Well, do you — what does that say to you about Ted Cruz?”
CARSON: “It just says that we probably see things differently. He said he didn’t know anything about what his people were doing there, certainly would have stopped it had he known. But, you know, he thinks that they’re basically good people.”
