Carson Slams Clintons: ‘I Would Much Rather Lose than Lie’

‘I take my examples from the life of Christ and I make no bones about the fact that I’m a Christian and I have Christian values’

SCARBOROUGH: “Michael Steele.”
STEELE: “So, so —“
BRZEZINSKI: “Real quick.”
STEELE: “You’ve got South Carolina, you’re going into the next phase of the primaries, how are you poise[d] to make the kind of moves you’re going to need to move — to make to take a state, to win, to win somewhere? What is your strategy there?”
CARSON: “The strategy is to continue to talk about the things that are important to this country. You know, the divisiveness that is destroying us, a house divided against itself cannot stand. The fiscal irresponsibility that is jeopardizing the future for our children and our failure to take a leadership position in the world. And also, you know, neglecting our critical infrastructures —“
SCARBOROUGH: “Right.”
CARSON: “— like the grid puts us at enormous risk particularly for cyber attacks.”
BRZEZINSKI: “Do a yes no. We have to go.”
SCARBOROUGH: “So, let me ask you a question that was asked of Hillary Clinton and she couldn’t answer it. So I will ask you yes/no. Would you ever lie to the American people if you were president?”
CARSON: “I would much rather lose than lie. You know, I take my examples from the life of Christ and I make no bones about the fact that I’m a Christian and I have Christian values. So, that to me is much more important than any political ambition.”
BRZEZINSKI: “Dr. Ben Carson, thank you very much, good luck tomorrow.” [crosstalk]
