Jeb: ‘I’m in Favor of Protecting Second Amendment Rights for Law Abiding Citizens’

‘I want the American people to know where I stand’

BRZEZINSKI: “Mike Barnicle.”
BARNICLE: “Governor, what was the thought process in your campaign behind the issuance of a Twitter picture earlier this week of a .45-caliber handgun with your name on it and the phrase ‘America’ beneath the picture?”
BUSH: “Well, it was in honor and recognition of attending — going to the manufacturing facility and having a town hall meeting with the workers that made that gun and I was proud to receive the gun, I was proud to interact with them. I learned a lot from the town hall meeting and hopefully I shared my views on how we could restore economic growth. It also was a recognition that the Second Amendment is as important as any of the other parts of the Bill of Rights. And it’s under attack right now. The selection of the next Supreme Court justice with the passing of Justice Scalia will put the Second Amendment front and center in front of the American people and I want to know — I want — the American people to know where I stand. I’m in favor of protecting Second Amendment rights for law abiding citizens.”
