‘He’s the head of my church so I’m cautious about this to be honest but I don’t think he helped anybody by saying Donald Trump’s not a Christian’

BRZEZINSKI: “So, I want to ask you about comments that the pope made about Donald Trump —“
BUSH: “Yeah.”
BRZEZINSKI: “— saying he’s not a Christian because of the whole wall thing. What did you think when you heard that?”
BUSH: “Well, first of all, I thought it probably was inappropriate for the pope to intervene at the — in the hideaway of a contested primary in that way. I don’t question Donald Trump’s Christianity, that’s between him and his creator. The fact is, he’s got the wrong policy, building a wall and making Mexico pay for it isn’t a policy that’s just a — that’s an emotion, that’s a sentiment that tries to appeal to people’s [indecipherable] frustration and anger. The pope is right about that but, I don’t think he should be interjecting himself into the political arena. He’s — he’s a spiritual leader, he’s an inspiration, he’s the head of my church — so I’m cautious about this, to be honest you, but — but I don’t think he helped anybody by saying Donald Trump’s not a Christian.”
