TIME’s Klein: Trump ‘Doesn’t Get Specific’ Because ‘He Doesn’t Know Anything’

‘He’s not going to pick a side and the reason why he doesn’t get specific on a lot of stuff is that he doesn’t know anything’

SCARBOROUGH: “...of Columbia, and the chairman of South Carolina Republican Party, Matt Moore who’s not in the state capital of Columbia but actually in the state capital of South Carolina which is Columbia.  (Laughter). All right, So Joe Klein, now that we have that straightened out.”
UNKNOWN MALE: “What was that?”
BRZEZINSKI: “It’s all right, you know.” [crosstalk]
SCARBOROUGH: “Yeah. Now that we’ve got that straightened out. I asked Trump after that and I thought it was the news of the night, I said who do you assign blame for in the stalemate in the Middle East? The Israelis or the Palestinians? I have yet to meet a Republican, including myself, who wouldn’t immediately —“ [crosstalk]
KLEIN: “Say the Palestinians.”
SCARBOROUGH: “[indecipherable] in response say Palestinians. Donald Trump, the deal maker says you know what? I’m not going to pick a side today because that would stop me from being able to broker a peace. Maybe so, but that’s almost heresy in the Republican party.”
KLEIN: “Yeah, but the thing is that the reason why he’s not going to pick a side and the reason why he doesn’t get specific on a lot of stuff is that he doesn’t know anything. (Laughter) I mean, I know you guys really pushed him last night on a number of issues —“ [crosstalk]
SCARBOROUGH: “Well, we actually — first of all. Hold on a second, Joe, before that though you didn’t hear what he was saying, he was talking about how his Israeli friends constantly say —“
