‘I’ve been fighting for those ideas from my first day when I was in the House of Representatives’

HUNT: “... in the civil rights era among other issues. I talked to him about that yesterday.”

SANDERS: “If you look at my record, I have one of the strongest civil rights records in the United States Congress. And I have been fighting for those ideas from my first day in the — when I was in the House of Representatives working with the black caucus.”
[clip ends]
HUNT: “He also talked about participating in civil rights marches, among other things. I think the question that they are particularly looking at here is will there be a divide between older African-American voters and younger ones. We’ve already started to see some evidence that of course the age divide seems to be defining this election so far more than gender, more than some of the other ways that we typically look at the electorate. So the Sanders campaign feels like if they can make inroads with particularly young African-American voters they might be able to continue this string of upsets that they have already been on so far, Steve.”
