Chuck Schumer Mocks Cruz’s Comments: ‘Sort of Alice in Wonderland’ (Mediaite)

Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) dismissed Senator Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) characterization of the state of the union under President Barack Obama, saying on Face the Nation Sunday morning that Cruz was blaming the president for the failure of policies he had blocked from being implemented.

“A lot of it’s sort of Alice in Wonderland,” Schumer said. “He says the president’s policies haven’t worked, but he hasn’t let them go in to effect. He’s blocked just about every one.”

Schumer also pushed back against the idea, voiced by Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Fox News Sunday, that the GOP would attach demands to the upcoming debt ceiling vote.
