Christie: Rubio ‘Has the Same Exact Record as Barack Obama’

‘Why would I want to support that person’

BRZEZINSKI: “All right. Cokie Roberts.”
ROBERTS: “Governor Christie, a lot of people have been saying that you and Governor Kasich and Governor Bush should all get together and get out of the race and support somebody that’s not Donald Trump or not Ted Cruz, so that the Republicans can win the election in November. Do you have any intention of getting out of the race or getting together with the so-called establishment candidates to get behind someone?”
CHRISTIE: “Well, who would that someone be, Cokie? Someone who’s never accomplished a thing in the career? Someone who has the exact same record as Barack Obama? Someone who has not done a thing in the United States Senate, except skip votes, because he says that these votes don’t matter anymore. Why would I want to support that person?”
ROBERTS: “You know, when you said sit down and shut up, a lot of people thought that that was — it something that wouldn’t work in politics. And now, Donald Trump is throwing people out of his rallies and saying get him out of here and all of that. Have you been somewhat outflanked on the — I don’t know rudeness quotient or the guy who is willing to tell it like it is — place?”
CHRISTIE: “Well, thank you Cokie for the characterization of the rudeness quotient. (Laughter) I appreciate that. [crosstalk] You know, the fact is, if I’m going to be outflanked on anything, you know, being outflanked on the rudeness quotient is something that I’m happy to be outflanked on. The fact is that I’ve always been a person who’s not only said it exactly as I see it, but also I’ve been someone who is actually been able [indecipherable] get it done. And the problem is with somebody like Marco Rubio who quite frankly has not proven he can ever get anything done except to get up in the morning, you know, fix his hair, smile, and give the same speech he’s giving for the last six years. I don’t understand how that’s a qualification for president of the United States.”
