Scarborough: ‘I Don’t Think Cruz Will Be a Huge Factor’ in N.H.

‘Somebody that’s a Cruz fan might be listening and they say why aren’t you guys talking about the winner’

GEIST: “It’s a little bit different from Iowa where he would trail for a while and it looked like it was Ted Cruz’s race and then Trump made a surge late and led in all those polls. In New Hampshire, he’s been rock-solid since he got into the race.”
SCARBOROUGH: “Yeah. And, Cokie, we’re not — certainly nobody’s spinning for Donald Trump. We’re saying what we’ve said for the past six months. Iowa is not a tight fit for Trump.”
ROBERTS: “No, certainly not.”
SCARBOROUGH: “I always said if I were Donald Trump and I were ahead in 49 states, I’d say that’s good enough for Reagan — (Laughter) — I’m skipping Iowa, I’ll win my 49 states. But you go to New Hampshire and somebody — that’s a Cruz fan might be listening and say, why aren’t you guys talking about the winner? Because it’s only Trump and Marco — I don’t think Cruz is going to be a huge factor in this state.”
ROBERTS: “No. And he’s not even there. He’s already gone on to South Carolina.”
SCARBOROUGH: “Which is a smart move for him, right?”
ROBERTS: “Which is a smart move. But you know, Bob just talked about Trump talking about immigration last night. And in the Iowa entrance polls — well it’s so funny that they’re entrance — but the one place that Trump did very well was on the issue of immigration. Now, not that many people cared about it, only about 13 percent said they cared about it, but that’s where he had a huge win. And I suspect we’re going to hear in the next few days immigration, immigration, immigration in New Hampshire.”
