Huckabee: Trump’s Event Was ‘a Terrific Salute to the Veterans’

‘I was proud to be a part of that last night’

SCARBOROUGH: “...then the rest of us have just fallen off a cliff.”
BRZEZINSKI: “[indecipherable] it’s over. Joining us from Des Moines, Iowa, Republican presidential candidate and former Arkansas Governor, Mike Huckabee. You said you’ve got to play again. I have a chance for you —“ [crosstalk]
SCARBOROUGH: “Oh, he said no. He hasn’t said he’s coming.”
BRZEZINSKI: “Are you coming Sunday night?”
HUCKABEE: “I hope I can do it, it depends on what time. We’ve got a movie premiere of the movie ‘God’s Not Dead 2,’ but I think it may be over in time to get over there and do some jamming with Joe.” [crosstalk]
SCARBOROUGH: “You’ve got to jam, baby.”
HUCKABEE: “You know, Joe is a good guitar player.”
BRZEZINSKI: “Yeah, he is not bad.”
SCARBOROUGH: “You are quite the bassist. So, you also pretty darn good debater. I want to ask you not only how the debate was, but why you decided to go over to Donald Trump’s event after.”
HUCKABEE: “Well, at 8 o’clock I really had nothing else to do — (Laughter) —  because I offered myself to fill up that empty podium and that offer was just unceremoniously declined. So I said, let’s go support our vets. And I was glad I did. It was a great event, a terrific salute to the veterans and I was proud to be a part of that last night.”
