Rep. King: Even China Was More Cooperative Protecting the Olympics Than Russia

KING: “Well Bill, I consider this to be a very significant issue. The Russians are far less cooperative than any of the recent Olympics hosts, certainly the Chinese, obviously the British were extremely cooperative, but even the Chinese, that you would think we were at odds with sometimes, they were far more corporative than the Russians. The Russians are, I think, more concerned about the threat that somehow our intelligence people would learn about their sources and their methods, and they have to a large extent, are going in alone. And this though, I think, is the most dangerous Olympics we have had. And so if there was ever a time when there should be cooperation, it's now. Unfortunately we are not getting anywhere, I don't believe, anywhere near the level of cooperation that we do need, and here we're coming down to the final few weeks.”
