Hemmer to Earnest: Has Obama’s Message of Bringing People Together ‘Failed?’

Earnest: ‘If you take a look at what happened over the course of last year, we’ve actually made a lot of progress’

RUSH TRANSCRIPT:

HEMMER: “Hope and change 7 years on, many see a more divide America, the red straight more red and the bluff states are more blue.”
EARNEST: “We have seen more partisanship and more vein division in Washington, D.C. That we would like to see. There is no doubt that the president and all of us at the White House have been disappointed. That we haven’t found a new partner to find common ground.”
HEMMER: “You had 21 republican governors seven years ago, now you have 31. You have a republican majority in the house and senate. By this measure have the policies of this administration failed, Josh?
EARNEST: “If you take a look at what happened over the course of last year, we made a lot of progress. Working with a republican majority in Congress we reformed the no child left behind bill to make sure our kids aren’t being tested too much. We succeeded in reforming the IMF contribution. We actually passed a budget agreement that funds our national security and economic pry overt $50 billion over sequester levels. We extend the debt limit to make sure we didn’t risk the full faith and credit of the United States. All that got done between the speaker of the house and the president to get that done.”
HEMMER: “I thank you for your time today. Josh earnest live from the North Lawn at the White House. We are 12 hours away. Thank you, Josh.”
