The Five Reacts to Daily Show Parody: Can’t ‘Do Anything Better Than That’ (Mediaite)

Fox News’ The Five has had its problems with The Daily Show in the past, but on today’s show the hosts had nothing but love for Jon Stewart and especially Samantha Bee, who delivered a brilliantly bizarre one-woman performance art piece about the secret love affair between Greg Gutfeld and Dana Perino that informs every other aspect of the show.

“It was great,” Perino said of the tribute. “She was hilarious.”

Gutfeld said it was the perfect example of the rest of the media’s “obsession” with Fox News.

“Are your respective spouses upset about that at all?” Eric Bolling asked the pair, who laughed off the notion.

Gutfeld and Perino enjoyed the piece so much that they sent flowers to Bee the morning after the segment aired to thank her for “putting her heart” into the piece.

When Bolling asked the table if they thought The Daily Show might do a follow up focusing on Bob Beckel and Kimberly Guilfoyle, Gutfeld said, “I don’t think you can do anything better than that.
