White House on Oregon Standoff: ‘This Is a Local Law Enforcement Matter’

‘Ultimately this is a local law enforcement matter and the FBI is monitoring the situation’

UNKNOWN FEMALE: "Do these people have a right to be on this land at this point?"

EARNEST: "I'm not sure the president has spent a lot of time considering the case of the individuals who're carrying out this action. Ultimately this is a local law enforcement matter and the FBI is monitoring the situation and offering support to local law enforcement officials."

UNKNOWN FEMALE: "What is the federal government's role given if is federal land? There occupying federal land."

EARNEST: "The concern we have is for the safety of federal personnel that work in those facilities. To our knowledge there are no federal employees that are at risk or in danger right now. We are aware of the situation and concerned about it ultimately right now, this is a matter that local law enforcement is handling and they are doing so with the support of the FBI."

UNKNOWN FEMALE: "Has the administration provided any guidance to the employees of that facility, that shall -- they should not enter or go to their place of work?"

EARNEST: I am not aware of that."
