Navarro: If Trump Is Nominee, Doubtful ‘Mainstream’ GOPers Attend Convention

‘I’m not sure how much of the traditional Republican mainstream usual suspects who go to a convention you would see if that’s the case’

CNN’s Navarro: If Trump Is Nominee, Doubtful Many ‘Mainstream’ GOPers Will Go to Convention (Mediaite)

CNN’s Ana Navarro predicted this morning that if Donald Trump actually becomes the Republican nominee, there will be plenty of GOP candidates who won’t dare come anywhere near the 2016 convention.

On State of the Union, Jake Tapper brought up the issue of the conventions and what might happen if Trump actually wins the primaries. Navarro, a Jeb Bush supporter, said there will be “a bunch of unusual suspects at the convention if it ends up being Donald Trump.”

“A Donald Trump nomination would be very bad for some of the senators,” Navarro said, “folks running statewide in some of the purple and blue states… I’m not sure how much of the traditional Republican mainstream usual suspects who go to a convention you would see if that’s the case.”
