‘I Just Freaking Answered It!’ Mary Katharine Ham, O’Reilly Clash Again Over Pot

‘I do not want my daughter to drink alcohol or get a tattoo, but those things are legal’

‘I Just Freaking Answered It!’ Mary Katharine Ham Clashes with O’Reilly Again Over Pot (Mediaite)

Last week Bill O’Reilly and HotAir Editor-at-Large Mary Katharine Ham fought over pot legalization, and Ham returned Monday night for round two. The big issue this time was O’Reilly’s insistence on focusing on how children are affected by legalizing pot, resulting in another shouting match.

Ham emphasized not only how widespread support of pot legalization it, but how a vast majority of Americans agree the Drug War’s been a failure and how even conservative states like Texas favor leniency for drug offenders. O’Reilly dismissed the “canard” about drug arrests, and, like he did last week, brought up Ham’s young daughter to make a point about teenagers eventually treating pot like “chewing gum.”

Ham, clearly not happy with O’Reilly bringing up her child again, shot back by saying she would not want her daughter to drink or get a tattoo, both of those happening to be very much legal. O’Reilly butted in and told Ham she’s “pettifogging the issue by taking it out of the children realm into the adult room,” getting more fired up as he said, “you dodged the children issue because you can’t justify it.”

Ham cried, “I just freaking answered it for you!”

O’Reilly concluded by telling Ham “you are part of the problem,” and she shot back by saying, “I look forward to the studies, which you do not have yet.”
